How to measure your foot
- Stand on paperLate in the day, wearing the socks you'll wear with the shoes, heel against a wall.
- Mark the longest toeHave someone mark the tip of your longest toe, holding the pen upright.
- MeasureMeasure from the wall to the mark. Do both feet and use the longer one.
- Find your sizeMatch your foot length in the table. If you fall between sizes, or have a wide foot, take the half size up.

Made for you
Ready-to-wear follows the charts in this guide. When you want a piece made for you, there are three ways to work with us.
Choosing Made to Order on a product page? Take your measurements with the guide below and keep them to hand, or book a fitting and we'll take them for you.
Before you start
- Use a soft tailor's tape, not a metal one.
- Wear a light, close-fitting shirt and trousers; empty your pockets.
- Stand relaxed and upright, feet together, looking ahead.
- Keep the tape level and snug, never tight.
- Ask someone to help with shoulders, sleeves and lengths.
- Measure twice, in inches or centimetres, and don't mix the two.
- Also measure a garment that fits you well and send those numbers too.
- Note your height without shoes, and your weight.
How to measure
- NeckAround the base of the neck where a shirt collar sits, with one finger under the tape. Your collar size is about 1 cm (½ in) more.
- ChestUnder the arms, around the fullest part of the chest and across the shoulder blades. Keep the tape level, arms relaxed, and breathe normally.
- StomachAround the fullest part of the stomach, usually at the navel. Stand as you normally do; don't hold it in.
- Seat / hipsAround the fullest part of the seat, with your feet together.
- Shoulder widthAcross the back, from the edge of one shoulder bone to the other, following the curve of the shoulders.
- Sleeve lengthFrom the shoulder edge, over a slightly bent elbow, to the wrist bone. For a kurta or sherwani, measure to where you want the sleeve to end.
- BicepAround the fullest part of the upper arm, with the arm relaxed.
- WristAround the wrist bone. Note which wrist you wear a watch on.
- Jacket / kameez lengthFrom the highest point of the shoulder, where it meets the neck, down the front to where the garment should end.
- Trouser waistAround your waist where you wear your trousers, usually just below the navel, with one finger under the tape.
- ThighAround the fullest part of the upper thigh, just below the crotch.
- KneeAround the knee, with the leg straight.
- Bottom opening (pancha)The hem width you prefer. Easiest from a favourite pair: measure the hem flat and double it.
- OutseamFrom the trouser waist down the side of the leg to where the trouser should end: top of the heel for tailoring, the ankle for a shalwar.
- InseamFrom the crotch down the inside of the leg to the same finishing point. Easiest taken from trousers that fit you well.
For kurta, kameez & sherwani
- Kameez & sherwani lengthAs step 9, to where it should end: a kurta usually ends around mid-thigh to the knee, a sherwani just below the knee.
- DamanThe hem all the way round. Measure a kameez you like flat across the hem and double it.
- Shalwar lengthFrom the waist to the ankle, down the side of the leg.
- CollarFor a band or sherwani collar, use your neck measurement (step 1) and tell us the collar height you prefer.
For womenswear
- BustAround the fullest part of the bust, tape level across the back.
- Under-bustDirectly under the bust, all the way round.
- Natural waistAround the narrowest part of your waist, usually just above the navel.
- ArmholeAround the top of the arm, through the armpit and over the shoulder point.
